Greenhouse (youth)

The Mission of our youth group is...

For our youth to know the Christ and make Him known by

Giving service, Reaching out, Offering worship, Walking in Truth, Enjoying fellowship.

Our desire is for everything the youth do at First Presbyterian to have Godly purpose. Each part of the youth ministry is geared to accomplish at least one part of the acronym. This way the church's youth ministry can be the place to G.R.O.W.E. for youth as they mature through middle/high school and in their understanding of our God, Jesus.

Below are the ways to be involved in the youth ministry for those in 5th through 12th grade. Also check out and follow our Instagram at fpc_greenhouse.

  • youth group wednesdays

    WE'RE BACK!!

Join us on Wednesday nights at 6:00. After dinner and some crazy games we sit down for a study of Genesis, the book of beginnings, and then have time for discussion and questions. The Bible is one united story and Genesis is its first book. Therefore, understanding of this book is critical to better understand the rest of the Bible. Here are the next two lessons...

          Genesis 14-15

          Genesis 16-17

  • Sunday School

The Bible is the best book, but it's not always the easiest to understand. In Sunday school, we are taking a look at each book of the Bible and getting a better handle on how to understand why it is where it is, what that means, and how to read it. Here are the next five lessons.

         Prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel

         Prophets: The Twelve p. 1

(Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah)

         Prophets: The Twelve p. 2

(Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi)

         Writings: Psalms

Writings: Job, Proverbs, Ruth, Song of Songs

This fall the youth are going to enjoy an evening outdoors with popcorn and a movie on the big screen (a projector). The evening will likely be in early November, with more details to come.

  • Service opportunity: hurricane help

God desires for His people to help one another so one way our youth can do this is assisting a fellow church in Pensacola. We will be meeting at the church at 7:30am Saturday October 3rd. This neighbor church needs help clearing trees, limbs, etc. from the church area. Contact our church for more info.

  • Service opportunity: Op. Christmas Child

God desires for His people to look after the poor. One way our youth can help in this regard is by packing up donated gifts for Operation Christmas Child on Wednesday November 11th (There's no school that day as it's Veteran's Day). Packages including needed essentials as well as Christmas gifts are sent to children in 3rd world countries, who are then given the gospel as well.
